Master cylinders, NOS E9?? and 2002tii

Hi guys

Does this mean mine might be scrap, I was thinking a stitch repair could be done using stainless steel rods and resin, just how sought after are these and would it be worth doing.

John.

These were common to all e9 e3 e12 e24 rhd versions, until the introduction of the hydraulic booster system. I suppose it was cheaper for BMW to make a one size fits all part. Shouldn't be too hard to find a core in a wreckers yard in the UK. BMW still sell a rebuild kit for them, and if the bore is knackered, re-sleeving with stainless steel isn't cheap, but lasts forever (or so they say )

Believe me nothing to do with the cars you mentioned are cheap or plentyful any more in the UK, maybe twenty years ago but not now, l think a CS with severe rust just sold on ebay for £3200, maybe someone could post a link.
Does anyone know of any for sale or in a breakers in the UK and at what price.
There are plenty of places that will recondition one for you but you need to have one in the first place.

The point about the ebay car is that not long ago cars like this would have been broken for spares but now are being restored and need parts.

Those models are rare in wreckers now here, they turn up occasionally, but I thought that in the UK as there were so many of them sold, they might still be around in greater numbers. My mistake. In that case, having yours welded is probably a good option. A good TIG operator should be able to do it.
