Sure am glad my wife and I just bought a house in Saint Augustine...:eek:. We're 0.25 miles west of Route 1 so not right on the coast but within 5 miles so we are in the main path of the storm. Most of our stuff is there now but not our cars or us. We're now renting in MA and spending a week a month down there, going down again a week from Saturday. With Mathew, we're expecting power outages at the very least, so the fridge has been cleaned out and all outside furniture, i.e. projectiles, is now inside. About all we can do right now.
 
With any luck you will be on the west side of the storm eye which is less destructive, I'm hoping the storm jogs east a little as it nears land (which is often the case). Strafing along the coast like that is a horrible scenario with all the development from Miami to Jax.

Looks like we will just get feeder bands of only tropical force winds in Miami but I fear for those north of us. The future track shows it looping back and potentially hitting Florida again next week!

Wow, you called it, Steve!

Current Weather Chanel radar shows the eye jogged to the north/east just a bit and the its slightly off shore of SA as I type this, East far enough that the head wall winds aren't right on the coast. Jax will probably get the brunt of it though.

Video from my neighbor looks very windy and rainy but no significant damage. Power is currently on, cable is not. Lawn should be nice and green (and mushy) when we go down a week from Sat with some clean up needed.
 
Based upon pictures, our neighborhood seemed to have come through pretty well though they're still without power and cable. We lost a big tree in our backyard which barely clipped the corner of the garage, not a big deal. Downtown SA and areas nearer the coast look like they got hit pretty good especially by the surge.

Hopefully power will be on when we go down next Saturday.

Hey Tod -- glad to hear you dodged the bullet on that one. Put on your to do list to find a five level parking garage near your house so you can park the coupe on level 3 or 4 next time something like this comes along.
