Maui, Burgundy E9

Hello All,

As my wife and I were driving from Kihei to Kaanaplai on South Kihei road at 10 am I noticed a beautiful burgundy E9 driving towards us. I wanted to turn around and follow it, but my wife thought it was not a very good idea; arguing that driving into on coming traffic was not a good idea, especially on a vacation. Does anybody know of this car?

I moved from Kihei a year ago after living there for 5 years and never saw an E9 on the island other than the one I bought and shipped here to Austin.

I haven't heard of a burgundy one in the islands either, but I wasn't part of this forum then.

Just got back from working on Carl's taiga on north Kihei road and Josh's nachtblau in Makawao last week. Never seen malaga
 
Yeah, never seen or even heard of that one. Between me, Josh, and this other guy, we've virtually got enough to start our own E9 Club-Maui Chapter

Oh, and Andrew.....feel free to touch base if you want to stop by to spend some time with the Green Meanie while you're on Maui. Aloha

Fortunately for Don my car is running pretty well so he won't be spending his time fixing my mistakes and will actually be able to take in some sights here, no tinkering allowed!

We went a couple of years ago to the Jazz Fest,what a good time! Also meet Steve and a very good host to the City! Have fun guys.
 
jazz fest, many great memories. i'm not jealous, i'm not jealous. have a great time guys. i've got the prints from about 15 different fests. starting with '77
 
What, there are THREE E9s on Maui? I haven't seen another on Oahu for idunnohowlong. I used to think there were maybe five to seven running here, but I surely don't see 'em on the road.

I've seen a 2000CS in Hilo twice.

Since Brandon sold his white 2800CS w/3.5 to the mainland, I no longer personally know anyone here with an E9. There is a malaga CS rotting in a driveway about two miles from me, but I haven't seen it moved in a decade or more.

Anyone (t)here?

You would think anyone with an e9 would somehow be connected to someone on this forum- I wonder if the owner will surface?
 
Look at all the e9s that end up on eBay, Craigslist and other sites yet there is no connection to our Forum members. Some of these owners don't even know it is called an e9 and don't search on this I will bet.

I found this forum pretty quickly after the purchase of my E9, but was wading through the posts and learning about the car. I didn't think to search to see if there were other nearby members till I got to Austin. I had to get it running to get it shipped off-island as my move was coming up.

It was shipped from the Big Island to Maui three years earlier and right about the time I was buying mine, another white 2800CS was posted on CL, also in Kona, also not running for $3k. Someone there had a thing for white E9s, but I never found out who.

E9 on Maui

gruppe, the Malaga E9 spotted in Kihei was me. I'm well connected with this group as well as being President of BMW CCA. I know of one other here but have only been here a month, oh and someone backed into the nose yesterday and left...... Yin and yang
