Many of us have bought parts from Mesa Performance over the years but some of you have never set foot in their store. Well, Spence is moving to Seattle and Jim will be running the shop by himself. Spence's wife has some health issues and the climate there is much better for her. A few of us stopped by this past Saturday to wish him well and I snapped this photo of Spence. He has a running 2800CS and a not currently running 3.0CS, let's hope he now has some time to spend on his coupes!

sweet!

chris,
so spence is coming to seattle? is he going to open a mesa nw?? we need one up here!

No plans for a Seattle operation. Since Spence kept all the books we are hoping that Jim can keep things going! Their father along with Jim and Spence started their business 35 years ago this week. Their dad passed away May 31st and Spence dissolved the corporation and left his share to Jim. I am going to miss Spence, if you have ever called or visited you will know why.

:)

I have bought a few things off them. Hope to buy more. Good suppliers are Gold. Now that I see the personal side, all the more so.

I wish his arrival in Seattle could have been under better circumstances, but we welcome his family and coupes never-the-less. Coming here for the weather, eh?

Miss him too

Always stopped in to see both at Mesa whenever I was up in Orange County. Always was very helpful and knowledgeable. Best of luck in Seattle Spence!

After owning my Coupe for over 30 years, just started going there a couple years ago. I knew about them and they are only a mile from my home. I can't explain why I did not get my parts form them sooner.

In that short time I have gotten to know Spence pretty well. I will miss having in depth discussions with him. His knowledge of Coupe parts as well as BMW parts in general is amazing.

Mesa

Started going to this shop in 1983 for random parts on my 76 2002. I think I bought my "Bavarian Motor Works" mylar front windshield thingy from them (yes, I was one of the teenagers with that stupid thing). They were just a little place along a street that ultimately became a freeway on-ramp. Most recently used them in 2012 to get my driveline balanced. Very good service. I hope they stick around.

+1 for Mesa

They rebuilt my calipers...Thank them every time i hit the pedal.

All the best, and keep us posted.
