Built 6/70, I don't think it should have the later peaked headrests. Painted plastic spacers on trunk torsion rods and washers under strut cap nuts doesn't indicate a great attention to detail either. Pretty color though.

Yeah it's definitely not perfect. The tools are incorrect as well...
 
When did the seat back release move from down next to rake adjustment knob to the seat back? My '70 CS has it down by the knob.

I just learned about the lower lever a few weeks ago. My 2800 CS is a '71 and has them up top. I also have the older style head rests. Chris or Mike mentioned that the headrests with the ears are a different diameter and don't fit in the early seats.

2800CS/USA 2270349 (June 1970)
2800CSA/USA 2280369 (June 1970)

All 2800 had the 10mm posts up through early 3.0CS (this is not clear however), the Model 73 and 74 have 12mm posts so that may be when the headrest shape changed? (2240542 and 2250438)
 
Not perfect but for sure looks nice. Change all the black trim to chrome and it will look even better.
 
There is a Turkis 2002 running around South San Francisco that I see from time to time. It is AMAZING in person... I agree...

Lot of work to ship that car from Europe over to here though...
 
In reviewing the photos more carefully, I am not convinced the car justifies the price. There seems to be a lot of overspray evident under the hood, which indicates less care than one might expect. The interior isn't original, but it's a number of years old from what I can see. The wood is original and the dash pad appears to have some cracks.

Bonus points for color, but $45K US seems pretty high to me....

The BMW 2800 CS Automatic VIN 2221195 was manufactured on April 28th, 1970 and delivered on May 04th, 1970 to Belgium. The original colour was Agave, paint code 071.

It looks like the car was repainted all over in Turkis maybe 20 years ago and has since had another coat recently on just the exterior.

Beautiful color, but not original to the car.

Probably not available on 2800. I too would like to know when the base coat/clear was introduced by BMW, specifically on Polaris cars.
 
Well, I want one, I just don't think I was THIS one.

The problem for me is that there are just too many colors that I want in an E9...

For what it is worth, the first repaint to Turkis was likely done many years ago, probably the same time the seats were redone. The recent paint job was not as disassembled as the first one.
