Monterey Car Week Accomodation Suggestions?

Our usual spot fell through. She is renovating and the contractor is way behind.

I checked with Asilomar and they are sold out.

Most homes are way over 1000 per night.

Any hotel or motel recs?

My buddy and I bit the bullet and got a great house in Carmel By the Sea, view and everything. We booked it a month and half ago. It's so nice, we're bringing our wives - partly so they don't kill us for spending so much. :D
 
I was looking at prices - last year my son and I had a house in seaside, I think it was under $3k for the week. This year everything seems double that. Damn.
 
Butterfly grove hotel is right across the street from ledgends. It’s overpriced $500 a night but is funky nice and great car parking and nice owners
 
Thanks everyone ! My wife found a place in Carmel Valley at a small hotel for us and the other couple. It’s a far drive, but a nice one and opposite traffic. Easy to get to the track from there etc. Hopefully we will be able to stay with my sisters friend next year again in PG, because it is such a great location and has a garage and everything.
 
I went to Pebble Beach for the first time in 1998, when it was just the concours and the races, and it had not yet become a big branded thing that took over everything. I think my ticket was about $125, which was a lot for me at the time, but probably a minor fraction of what it is today. I haven't been in 25 years, but it doesn't seem as fun to me as it was then. The amount of money required seems nuts to me.
