Hello this is my intro and restoration thread. I bought this car back in March and after a little while sitting I got a shipper to bring the car to a my metal/body guy in South Carolina. I will be needing much advise as I move forward with this restoration as I'm coming from the E30 crowd. comments and and suggestions are more than welcome. I have S38b36 swapped e30 that I am selling to help fund and clear up space for the e9. let me know if you are interested in that. progress will be slow, so bear with me. I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to get the pics posted from my phone. thanks, Joseph

Very impressive! It doesn't look like this is your first rodeo. That octogonal rotisserie is pretty sweet.

Is the body only held to it by the rear subframe bolts and some attachment on the front rails? Or do you have some other chassis bracing?

I appreciate it. I am new to full restorations and very new to e9s. This was a childhood dream to restore a e9. I am over 5 hour away from the car. I haven't seen it since it went on the octagon. But it looks like it is just on subframe mounting points. The car for the most part was structurally pretty sound.

Put in a pretty large order in to walloth a few days ago. I am also in need of trunk hinges if anybody has a set? My car has some old damage from being hit in the rear and the hinges aren't straight. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Cool project. Can't help with your specific question, but I like the car so far.

Not much of an update on the body but hopefully soon. I have decided on a power plant. This euro m90 got dropped off at the machine shop. This is going to be coupled with the csi manifold and megasquirt. Huge shout out to sfdon for being a big help thru this new process to me.

I was laying out the heater evap center console pieces. Turns out I'm missing the vent #13 on the diagram. If any has one I would appreciate it. I also recently found out this was an Italian market car. Serial number 2264283 if someone wants to add that to the registry I don't know how to add serial numbers. Thanks!
