Thought I'd post up a few pictures of the work I've been doing on My CSi.

My aim was to get a few essential jobs done to enable me to use it for a while and make sure I want to keep it before doing a full Bare metal restoration down the line.

Jobs I needed to to do:

Repair the holed floors:
Repair loose under seal and fully wax including the cavities.
Fit inertia reel seatbelts front and rear.
Fit a decent stereo!

Fit new window rubbers and seals as water has been leaking in (hence the damage to the floors.
Rebuild the brake master cylinder and servos.

I have the floors done, with two new front floor pans fitted.

Before!

I got a set of front and rear inertia seatbelts from a three door E30, but obviously these would not be a straight fit as I wanted the reels to be hidden so it looked like a factory install

I cut holes for the speakers and belt reels in the parcel shelf.

I then made up brackets to fit under the rear parcel shelf and welded them to the inner wheel arch

Only the top sticks through and this will have a cover.

Speakers also fitted

These will be hidden under the shelf cover.

That's it so far, I have some more wiring to do and the finishing touches for the front seatbelts then the interior can go back in

Hey Jon,

That looks great. Where did you get the new floors? Must be a nice feeling to have solid floors under you now when you put her back together! Are the sills and A posts good?

How is Killaloe? Do you know Matt the Thrasher's? - great place to stop for a burger - used to do it on my way down to Kerry from Dublin.

Regards,

Rohan

Thanks,

I got the new floor panels from Jamic, but had to cut out the hole for the drain plugs to keep it looking original.

The sills and A-posts are all good as is the rest of the inner structure of the car. front wings and doors will need attention at some point though.

I do know Matt the Threshers its only a few miles from me.

Whereabouts do you live now?

Cheers
Jon

Nice work, those are two projects I need to do as well. I like the idea of 3 point rear belts.

Do you have any details on the front belt install?

An update on this is overdue.

I removed the covering from the parcel shelf and cut holes to allow the sound from the speakers through but still keep a standard look, I also cut the hole for the rear seat belts. It came out well I think and looks "Factory"

The B-posts cut for the front belts and brackets welded in place.

Belts in place.

A few shots of the underside, ready for Irish roads! I sealed any seams around the new floor pans and removed any loose underseal, applied new underseal and then once that had dried gave the whole underside a coat of wax.

On the road, took it for a 50 mile shake down and she seems to perform very well, much faster than I expected

A few other jobs I did while it was in the workshop were:

Fit two reconditioned brake servos
Fit a stereo with iPod adapter
Fit Central locking

Since the car is going to be a daily driver I wanted a few comforts!!

That's all I intend doing for the time being.

Cheers
