Its taken some time to get here with the e9, some way to go also. Most of the running gear is installed, brakes and front suspension in the next few weeks. Dry sump system and loom will be tackled next year. The e12 is likely to be finished sooner, possibly next Spring even though is has been going for a fraction of the time of the e9. Alot of the 'sub' systems are already pre built awaiting install. The engine currently in the e9 is coming out and going in the e12 as a mildy tuned interim engine. Both cars are being built to historic FIA specs.

It has been hard work over the years, with the e9 build quite demanding, replicating some of the engineering of the period cars is exhausting, especially as a 'novice' of sort. The e12 on the otherhand does have a degree of simplicity about it against the e9, particularly when it comes to bodywork and trim! I have learned much re the difficult parts from the e9 and life was then easy for the e12 (plus i could get 3-off of many parts developed for the e9 and use on the e12 plus one spare). As someone whom has to work in a day-job and earn money, the time and cost commitment can be frightening, notwithstanding finding good, solid, reliable and experienced suppliers! (over the last few years i have come to know of several projects that achieved little when the builds got tough). Someone mentioned in another thread about the cost/spend to build a racecar a month or two ago - for a good e9, getting into £ six figures is VERY easy.

Some two way moral support from another forum member also building a car - and shared insanity (!!!) has been appreciated.

Enjoy the photos.
