My new CS...finally...photos

1) chromed wing nut is NOT supposed to fall out--should be retained in place with correct sized "circlip.

2) modification is to retaining tool box (not trunk) so it won't crack or develop fractures--call me for details @ 949-642-2150

3) if underhood material from Carl is the same type foam as original--yes--but if it is the type with mylar top surface over foam underlay--no don't install it--if you want to maintain originality--original type is available through BMW dealers--recently replaced same on the BLUMAX.

4) if car has been in storage for years you will likely need to have carbs completely gone through--all internal parts cleaned and re-build where needed--major rebuild kits are still available from certain suppliers--examples of problems experienced include--accelerator pump diaphams that may have deteriorated, injector tubes plugged with gunk from evaporated fuel and internals covered with gum and gunk--was tank empty when stored?--also chokes may well have internal/external corrosion that will prevent them from operating correctly--was car stored with coolant in the system?--the list can go on and on--resist replacing the original carbs--properly maintained the original Zeniths are hands down a better choice than Webers--the so called carb improvement!

5) brakes too may have issues from moisture that could have collected and form a ring of internal rust in caliper pistons and/or brake master cylinder--remember brake fluid attracts moisture--and the list may go on for a Coupe that has not been exercized for long periods of time..

The items I have mentioned are fairly common to the very low mileage, seldom driven or stored Coupes I have helped "sort" in bringing them back to being road worthy.

What a beautiful car. Many happy miles and enjoyment for years to come.

When I first saw it, I thought it was recently painted. The color combo is very nice together, you have yourself something very unique and special.

Originality is outstanding

And in the long run it will greatly enhance the value of your coupe.

Noted that the smaller pliers have red "grip material" on handles--that must be a personal touch from PO as all of those original Heyco tools were "nude"

I just love the Ceylon color. It reminds me of the photos of the Don Dethelfsen (sp??) 2002tii restorations from a few years ago. It is actually better looking on the CS coupes than the 2002 body. Very, very nice. Good luck with her.
