Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to show you guys my 1985 635csi euro that I bought off of BaT in early October. I saw it the first day it went up for auction and commented that it was a beautiful shark, then didn't think anything else about it. I was looking for another e30 just have fun in but my good friend Dave (who has restored two euro e24s) kept pushing me to bid on it. I started looking at the pictures and really liked it but it had a ton of miles. Dave kept telling that it had all the right stuff done to it and that I should buy it. The more I looked the more I liked it; euro with a dogleg, tons of upgrades and recent maintenance including all new AC, new stainless exhaust, new brakes, and rebuilt suspension. I had a budget of $25k, the auction ended on a Sunday morning - which I would have hated if I was the seller. In the final bidding, there were two of us going for it, I placed my last bid at $23,500 and won the auction. When I connected with the seller (who was incredible to work with), I asked him if it looked as good in person as it did in the pictures, he said 'yes it does'. When the car showed up, I couldn't believe how good the paint was (repainted in 2011) and was pleasantly surprised how nice the interior was too. The body is a straight as I've ever seen with zero rust. I had a euro e24 before with very low miles - this is a better car - people have loved and babied it.

Since it I got it; I've rebuilt the BBS RSs with deeper staggered lips, I removed the tint which was a major PITA, added euro stripes, reworked the exhaust tips, and added Coco Mats.

Hope you like it.

I dont like it....I love it! I am humming the 10cc song dreadlock holiday in my head as I write this.

Thanks everyone! I've been driving it as much as possible, fun to drive and the heater works great. The color is Cosmos Blue but it looks med grey to me - with a hint of blue.

Love these, and this looks amazing

Tell me about the bbs rebuild. I’m working on redoing a set myself. Got a lot of places who said they don’t rebuild them, and a couple crazy quotes of $1200 or more to refurbish them. So I’m doing them myself, having the centers powder coated, sanding and polishing, just ordered new hardware for the rebuild.

I’m curious what you did?

Oh my, the M6 would like to out with this Euro beauty. They are so comfortable.

Best.

Thanks for the compliment! As far as the RSs go, this is the third set that I have redone. It's a lot of work but rewarding. I'd say $1200 is not crazy at all for all the labor involved. There are 34 bolts holding each wheel together, disassembly is no picnic but putting them back together requires torquing each bolt - it takes time and probably a couple busted knuckles. The wheels that came on the car were gold but in very good shape, I left the barrels alone and painted the centers myself then added multiple coats of clear. While I was painting them, I had the hardware re-plated. I bought the staggered lips, they were ready to go - so no labor there. PM me if you have more questions, I'd be happy to help you through the process.

Ah, your vehicle reminds me of my '85 Euro M635csi that I acquired in 2001 and then sold about 2012.

E24 recaro sport seats are some of the finest car seats ever. The Euro bumper is so much more elegant than the US spec bumpers on US E24's...

Vince's shark is stunning....and looks even better in person. Flawless exterior and super nice inside as well.

Vince, those RSs really took on a new life. Nice work! Is that a light silver color on the centers?

Thanks Mike! Yes, the RS centers are kind of a standard silver - left over paint from the last set of RS's I rebuilt.
