I was told that the following BMW #11221262617 would work but after receiving one, it doesn't fit.

Can someone provide me a source or part # to get the correct flywheel for my m30b35 engine swap to my Getrag transmission?

That's the automatic flex plate. Stamped steel as opposed to machined finish?

that item is for automatics.

there is no clutch surface

Just come to the shop and pick one up or call Dave at Aardvark racing.

He has a nice one on eBay right now.

Don if you have one in stock today, I can come by and pick it up.

Jeesh, I hope that someone that "told" you of that part for you, you don't listen to that person again for parts advice.

Big diff between a flywheel and a flex plate (other than the ring gear).

The recommendation came from Turnermotorsport.com technician. :(

I'm guessing the technician asked you for either the make and model or the VIN on your car and looked up the part based on that information. You need to get into the habit of seeking parts numbers from knowledgeable people (not people trying to sell you something) and then telling the folks you actually buy parts from that they won't find the part you are asking about from using your make/model and/or VIN. I had to do this numerous times with the Washington DC area BMW Classic dealer when I was doing my five speed conversion.

Turner's people used to be quite good, but they sold the parts business several years ago and all the knowledgeable people were let go. This happened to Bavauto too.

Quite simply, this forum is the best place to start.
