Hey guys

Just to recap. Bought the car with an aftermarket monster tach. Removed it. OEM tach was non fonctionnal cause wiring disconnect and different engine in the car

Had the OEM tach modified to work with MSD ignition

Tach came back with same wiring and I want to use the wiring from the monster tach since I know it s working

I have 4 wires.

12V
ground
Light
signal

This is the back of the tach

I m a bit confused

The white strip in the middle shows 3 connectors

12V, for 12V power
one connector with the symbol (I) I guess for the computer signal
one connector with the negative sign (-)

top shows 1 wire
bottom shows 2

Can somebody point me where to connect ground and light considering I got 12V and signal right

Thx

Hi,

the bulb at the top is supposed to be the Light. Only needs power coming from the Lights switch. It gets Ground from the gauge Body.

The bulb at the buttom should be the warning light, that the hand brake is on or the brake fluid is low. This is switched via Ground and therefor of course it'll need also 12V +. (The reason for the 2 cables)
The cable colour for the combined ground signal for hand brake and/or brake fluid level should be a brown/blue one (or two of them connected in just one plug).

The other contacts at the gauge shouldn't be a big riddle. 12v + , permanent ground and the signal as you already pointed out.
