I was in Vegas for the past 2 days, so on my way back into town I stopped off. Short video, about 4 minutes.
Key take-aways:
  • NEED Parts, broken bits that make it too hard to re-attach
    • Hood Roundel
    • 3.0 CS insignia/letters for trunk
    • side chrome fender grills
  • Gary is having a tough time with rubber attachment to rear bumper

“The rear bumper rubber attaches with a separate metal strap that bolts to the bumper.” Where to get?

If you know best place to source these pieces and/or have thoughts on the rubber for rear bumper, please let me know.

Thanks.

Ok. I went down again today.
It seems that Benny will be able to something with the chrome side grills. Whew!
The only issue he is having is figuring out how to attach the rubber to rear bumper, and front bumper too. He describes it well in this video. Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. Seems pretty simple, but not sure.
I now just need the hood roundel and 3.0CS lettering. I am going to reach out to Carl Nelson now on all this. Hopefully this should be simple.
Benny thinks I may in fact be on the road next week, with some minor details to sort out later.
SOOOOO excited.

bumper rubber.
You just spread the rubber strip (laterally) and it pops right over the metal retaining strip (the little rusty strip that is riveted to the actual bumper).
I started in the middle (where the 2 bumper halves connect), and worked my way toward the ends.
When you get to the ends, you just stuff it into the big hole in the end of the bumper.
You do have to trim the ends a tad to get them into the holes in the bumper.
I think it took me all of perhaps 25 minutes?

Bumper Rubber: what you do NOT want to do is try to slide it over the retaining strip. It would slide on more than perhaps a foot or so before there's too much friction.

I had no problem sliding the rubber over the strip, but without proper lube it will probably be impossible.
