Anyone parting an early E24 preferably a Euro but could live with an NA part I need a known good HVAC panel. I have tried to build one good one from 3 panels I had with no luck, Biggest problem being the carbon tracks in the switches are just plain worn. It does have to be out of an A/c car. However if push comes to shove I can use a non A/C panel as I have an auxiliary panel that was used by dealers when they did an A/C add on and just wire that in as last chance, but would truly love a correct Euro panel

Bert, is the early e24 similar to the e12 panel ... or is it more like the e23? i would think it would be like one of the two ... i know the e12 + e23 are different

Switches may be the same but panels are different One problem we are having is the plastic mounting points are so brittle they keep snapping That’s why I am looking for the holy grail

I contacted him The car had a fire and it was centered around the fans and melted the panel.
But thanks for the heads up.

Hi Bert, I might have one, from a non AC rhd E12 based 6er, I think. I can dig it out if you might be interested.

Bert,

Send me a picture of what you need. I currently have 2 early euro e24s that need to go. One is a 1979 and the other is a 1980.

Bert, I have an old panel lying around too. Will ship you a pic. Geeze you do a nut and bolt resto on your E24, live in AZ....without the AC you got like 2 days/yr to drive it. We'll find it.

Thank you. I will get back to you after I check with the fellow who is doing the wi

Rob this has turned into an outer Mongolian cluster . I have spent 2 hours today with my friend Chris who is beyond a genius on the old cars. The panel has to be from an A/C car. A conversion just won't work and if you look at the picture it needs to be like the bottom picture with the red swoosh on the temp control and a Euro panel. The problem we are having is out of 4 panels, the boards the switches ride on are all worn out and the electronics in them are totally fubarred

Thanks Drew but after careful discussion with my friend who is the master doer in all of this, we need a factory a/c panel made all the more difficult by the fact that many of the euros came without it

Like this?
That's slippery Jack. Whenever I see him he hugs me and has made me some good deals on hard goods, but when it came to a "rebuilt" starter and after years of my car waiting to be started. I had to go to Rock Auto and buy a real rebuilt starter so I will pass on that as much as I honestly like him. He is always good for a strong cup of Armenian coffee. You would crack up if you saw his house. He lives in Reseda on about 1 1/2 acres. His back yard is full of old BMWs,mostly E24s and E12s, sorry no E9s for sure or E3s IIRC a few Ferraris 2 Renault Turbo Rallye cars some weird cycle fendered Lotus a few M6s and god knows what else most in various stages of disassembly some together By day he sits on his computer and is a gold trader. He is a trip to be around

I’ve been to his home, yes, very different. Renault LeCars in every color, a few Pontons, a 700 and Isetta probably now long gone and lots of e24s. Bert, help me find an e12 Pass side electric chrome mirror!

The guy helping me with my car is an E12 fiend. I will reach out to him and another fellow in LA I know. The guy in LA is a junkyard diver and has all kinds of stuff but you never know. I will get back to you tomorrow

Bert, why not reach out to Programa. If they can repair the carbon tracts on a BMW AFM, maybe they can help. The AFM tract as you know, it not obtainable either...I have looked for years.

Thanks I saw it It's too beat up for me, there are cracks in the mounting lugs and the face is scarfed up. The needle in the haystack I am looking for is one that I can be told is in known working condition. I am ready to dig into my pocket for the right one. I am sending feelers out to some of the "scavengers" I know in Europe to see if they can find a NOS one hiding in a corner. In the meantime, the search continues
