I’ve been tracking E9’s for several years and finally acquired this one earlier this fall. The car had one owner for 47 years who maintained obsessively complete service records, all of which came with the car. Other than maintenance replacements and the color change (which occurred in the early 1970’s), the car is original. It’s a joy to drive and reminds me of the Bavaria we drove in the mid 70’s. Hopefully it won’t remind me of the Bavaria’s service experience. It shares the garage with several Porsches and a 1969 XKE. I was glad to find this group and look forward reading it and relying on you experience IMG_0181.png

welcome to the forum - glad to see another 2800cs in Ceylon. mine was originally baikal and is 2280487. you need to meet @ccr2002, he is in your area and has owned a couple of ceylon coupes and still owns some pretty wonderful coupes.

K--Welcome to the forum. Ceylon/Tan is a nice and rare combination. We would like to see more pics of the interior and engine.---Drew
Drew,
Here are a few more pictures. Sorry for the discordant orange in the engine bay. I haven’t had an opportunity to return it to grey. I don’t know enough to declare it’s wrong but find no support for it in any of my literature. The leather is a little stiff but softening with use and leather restorer. The shift knob was created by an intermediate owner who operates a 3D auto accessory printing company. I’ve reinstalled the original wood knob.

Thanks for the welcome. It’s good to know of other coupes in the area. Looking at the BMW Club website, one wouldn’t suspect it.
