I have loved these cars ever since I was in short trousers! Bought this beauty a while ago - the restoration is proceeding well - can't wait to see the final product Side view left hand side Feb 2017.jpeg 2019-02-20 014 (002).JPG 2019-02-20 018 (002).JPG 2019-02-20 020 (002).JPG

Welcome Marc

Looks like a full nut and bolt restoration going on ???

Who is doing the restoration for you ??
Someone local or a specialist stealer /dealer ???

Do not give this car to restore to guy called bob in a shed down the road ,
And do not give it to one of the so called experts in E9 restoration, servicing etc etc ... they are specialist in ripping you off and saying they have done all this work , but cut huge corners to get the car done and make it look like a million $, just to get their dirty hands on your hard earned money
but it has gremlins under that paint job !!!

Hi Sandhu - I have taken the car to Munich Legends - the body work is being done by a specialist they use, likewise the re-trim. They will not be the cheapest but they are doing a first rate job

Hi Marc,

When my family/mate decide to do any major work i.e. Boydwork, engine work, interior etc etc or a full nut and bolt restoration on the E9, their are only 3 people that are honest and trustworthy that we will trust to do this work, without getting ripped off,( Paul Baker , fast classics and my dads mate. the rest are not to be trusted, without prejudice !!!!!)
Without cutting corners in the restoration process
Without adding more fee's into the agreed price ,
more fee's will always be added to the agreed price, this is how
Dealers/stealers/dishonest so called E9 restoration experts work, they have you backed into a corner , knowing you will pay the extra money to finish the car , if you don't, you won't get your car back, and then you will be charged for storage and kiss good bye to your car !!
I have heard horror stories where so called restoration experts have taken on projects and then sub contracted the work out and returned the car back to the owner, taken their profit out and then distanced them selves away from future problems with the car,

Good luck with your E9 restoration and I look forward to seeing it at a future BMW/ car classic event!!!!

Hi Marc,
My mate just left, and we where talking about E9 cars, and how prices have rocketed recently and you out bid him on the car you now own , at the auction... he's still gutted lol .....small world.
He said your car has a Alpina gear knob, the rear window did not work
Black body trim, not chrome
No under riders on the rear bumper
He only remembers the last 4 numbers, letter of your reg..770M, he remembers this because his mate car has the same last 3 numbers and letter as yours !!!

I told my mate the owner of the csi is doing a full restoration on it and It will look like a brand new car..
This upset my mate even more lol

Hi Sandhu - Your mate is absolutely right - that is the car - what a small world! Actually bought it via a telephone bid from Dubai where I was living and working at the time - my son had gone to have a good look around on my behalf. Whilst it looked very good when I finally got to see it a few months later, it did have a lot of previous (unfortunately mostly bad) work done on it - hence the full resto now. Having said that it is a solid car and I am seriously looking forward to completion

recognised your name - you're the person doing Ali bonnets (hoods to our American cousins) - they look to be excellent
Mark only sells top quality replica parts ... I highly recommend his parts ...

Do not buy the cheap replica stuff made from China that certain people , E9 specialist sell

I can’t wait to see the car after it’s restoration and if you enter it into the classic car concours events , you will get top prize !!!
Completion date is this year or next ??

Welcome to the club, Mark and congrats! You are clearly doing it right.

Fyi Group - Mine is just out of paint and interior is next. If anyone can advise of good resources for wood kits and dash restoration I'd be grateful. - Tom

Bela in Hungary and Madera in California. If you do a forum search for those (try both "Bela" and "Bella"), you'll probably get more contact information.
