Looks like MVP is now offering E9 beltline trim. I haven't seen it so can't comment on quality. Their website is kind of wonky when you try to calculate a real price, I guess since they sell through partners too. Can't even determine if there are tariffs involved.

They list a bunch of dealers in the US.

Mostly in CA.

For Germany both W&N and Stefan Ries are listed as WVP Resellers

i have added MVP to the FAQ - top sources list ... would love to hear from anybody who has bought these ... but being that W+N and Stefan Ries are dealers, my guess is they have been vetted.

There are 6 dealers listed on their website for the USA. I emailed MVP about buying just the right rear trim. They responded with a quote for the part and shipping to Florida. . Here's the copy of their reply. The BMW P/N is 51121810546. Their price for the trim is US $270. Their price and shipping are reasonable, but the tariff and the extra PayPal charge for sending money to a foreign country will prevent me from replacing my trim piece. USA dealers will probably incur the same costs, which will be added to their selling prices for any MVP items.

Dear Customer,

Thanks for your inquiry! We are shipping from Taiwan.

The part (BMSSA-31125) is currently in stock.

Please find the Paypal link below for order confirmation and payment.
The total payment amount includes all the items and the shipping fee (US$ 80).
Because the items BMSSA-31125 have a large volume, we have already covered more than half of the shipping cost. We appreciate your understanding regarding this.

Attached is the payment link to have a look.

Once the payment is received, we'll arrange the Fedex/UPS shipment to you in 10-14 days.

And quick reminder, this payment does not include any customs duties or import taxes.
If any customs fees are incurred upon the package's arrival in your country, the local customs office or the delivery service provider will contact you to arrange payment.
Additionally, please be note that due to recent changes in U.S. import policy, starting August 29, 2025, orders valued under US $800 may no longer be exempt from import taxes. Based on our experience, the U.S. import tax is currently about 20-50% of the invoice amount.

In this case, would you like us to declare the full purchase amount on the invoice, or would you prefer we mark a lower value(US $95) to reduce your import taxes?
Please let us know your preference as soon as possible so we can proceed accordingly.

Once you complete the payment, please provide your delivery details including name, address, and phone number.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask~

BEST REGARDS,
MVP

I'd go for the lower invoice price. Seems that below $100 they don't charge anything

I just ordered from them and it should be arriving this week. For anyone ordering, get them to ship fedex instead of UPS, may avoid a tariff. I will post something next week on the quality/fit, but the 2002 people seem to like their products.

Charles--I'm very interested in your feedback about your order. Did you buy the entire set of trim pieces? Thanks, Drew

Yes, ordered the full set. As a result, I will also have my full set of trim up for sale shortly which will include a rare NOS nose trim still in original plastic from BMW. Ultimately, I felt this route was simpler and probably cheaper that refinishing it all, and I didn’t have it in me to refinish a brand new part to make it match all the rest either.

Package is supposed to arrive Friday, so will post an update once I have had a chance to look it over

looking forward to hearing your thoughts and the observations of how well it fits on your car. i would recommend using the spacers and new t-bolts and rubber nuts (hand tight)

Received it today and took a few pictures. I have not test fit each part, but checked a few things

  • Finish looks very good. The NOS nose piece I have pictured is maybe 5-10% better when you see them side by side, but you would never know a difference otherwise
  • The only slight flaw is the ends are not quite as finished as the side. A little rougher than the rest, but your really have to be looking close
  • Fit on the rear side is spot on.

The new MVP trim on the pictures is the two center parts. Old quarter on the outside and a NOS bmw front on the other side for comparison. Also a pic of the right quarter taped in place. Excuse the protective wrap.

In conclusion, so far so good, will post more to my build thread when I get a little further.

Hi Charles,
Those are good pictures, but could you take some more from this position, like in my pictures?
The point is whether the rear curve & the end of the trim strip aligns perfectly with the curve of the side panel. Ideally,
it would be exactly like in my pictures.
rg, Chris
