Hi guys. Arde suggested I re-introduce myself.

I was on this forum back in the 2006-2009 time frame. At that time I was in Los Altos, CA. Moved to Petaluma in 2009. Took a hiatus from car stuff to restore a 1929 wooden boat, and renovate a houseboat (more of a floating home), and a house.

I am finally getting around to restoring my E9. It has been sitting in a garage for the past 15 years or so (driven on and off). Still runs great, but has not really been touched much.

First order of business was to get some new tires. The existing rims are 14", and the tires are totally shot. I decided to get some Maxilite Alpina replica staggered wheels instead of the ratty old 14" rims.

Going with Pilot Sport 4 tires. 205/55/16 on the front, and 225/50/16 on the rear.

This project is only in its early stages. The car is a 1972 3.0 CS. Dual Webers, 4 sp trans. No sunroof, and only one small rusty spot on the aft end of the right rocker. Plan to do a fairly comprehensive renovation on this car. So stay tuned..

I also have a ton of experience with the M90 motor and L-Jet EFI, and BMW electrical systems in general, so, if you have any questions or need help with any of that. drop me a line.

Fun to be back!

Scott

Hi Scott

From your old home of Los Altos Welcome. Love to meet up with you someday

Hey Scott, nice to see you join the crowd again. Curious to see some pictures of your E9, and how the Maxilite Alpina's fit.
The tires were on back order. They arrive in early Feb. I'll put the new wheels on the car then, and roll her out from her storage garage for he past 12 years. I'm pretty sure I'll need to pull and clean the carbs and replace all of the gas before I try to start her, although I have been using pretty muchg te same gas in my E24 for the same period, and she runs fine. The E9 ran well when I stored it, so that, and a new battery should be all she needs. I may spray some oil into the cylinders before giving the engine a spin.

I'll definitely post some pics!!

Whereabouts in Los Altos? We were on Newcastle between Holt and Morton (I originally typed that as "Motron", whihc shows my true BMW heritage! ;)) . My wife was the head of the foreign languages dept. at Homestead HS.

There were couple of E9 guys inthe area. One guy had a rather rusty E9 and a rustier parts car. IIRC, he lived off Bellville, over close to 85
