Nice detail that I noticed on the hoses in my car

While dismantling the engine compartment, I recently removed the automatic cooling lines and the power steering hoses.

I don't know about others, but I find these details intriguing somehow:
Some hoses on my car actually are date stamped!
thus I think they are original to my car.
Even more astounding, the power steering hose with the restrictor looked so good after I cleaned them, that I had them pressure tested to be sure. ( I thought 10 bar would suffice, not sure what operating pressure the pump delivers).
Who would have thought that 49 year old hoses would actually still be ok?

I have a hard time thinking about my daily driver (Ford), in say, 20 years from now....

Pic of the automatic cooling lines with "3-73" and brand "Argus" .

As there is no way to 'uncrimp' them from the hose, I can't get them re-zinced unfortunately. I must live with sanded and clear coat paint....

And the powersteering hose.
Again 3/73 dated.
(I guess just in time delivery wasn't a thing, as the build date of my car according Julia @ BMW is May '73)

Wiped off the grime, and also sanded down the half-gone zinc/cadmium layer; now also fresh again with a high temp clear coat.

I actually just guessed the 10 bars; good to know that it can reach up to 100 bar.
It also makes sense as the hoses state they have been tested up to 250 bar.

I'll get them retested when I'll go back to pick up some parts.
