Nicest e9 bhcc ever has attempted to sell

I see the wrinkle too, and I am pondering what could have caused it, as the rest around it seems 'virgin'. I can't think of an accident in evolving something from the side or rear that gives this type of damage, and have no other damage to show in the wheelhouse (although we can only see the bottom inch, it still looks untouched) , neither is the rest of the wheel well compromised. In the corner near the diff mount there is also some rough area, but it looks to be just a crappy caulk job from Karmann (was too in my car in places)

Could something from under the car be picked up by the wheel and be pulled up into the wheel well, getting jammed in between the wheel and the bottom of the floor?
 
Regarding the wrinkle, I think it is quite remarkable that this exact wrinkle is on my car. The view of my photo is from the bottom rather than the top, but the wrinkle location and shape are identical. My car appears to have taken a bump to the left rear. I suspect the spare tire in situ transfers the force from the back to the front of the well. My guess is that this car for sale took a similar hit to the rear, and the wheel well was replaced but they didn't bother to replace the trunk floor. I'd also guess there is some bondo and body work to the rear panel around or below the left tail light. Just a theory.

I think the shape of the spare tire well and the fact that it usually has a full sized spare in it can cause forces to be transferred to other areas without showing much damage to the well.

Yes, good point. My well is original and you can see how smooth it looks below the wrinkle.
 
It is possible t get wrinkles in stamped parts, maybe some were formed that way and they (BMW) used them anyway
