Nivomat rear suspension 2800

I'm not sure if my american model 2800a came with a nivomat rear or was is an option on the us cars? Alot of the service history was missing so I took a pic of whats there.

All Hoffman 2800 had Nivomat, it is much fatter than a normal shock.

Thanks, shifting into drive the rear end doesn't lower as a bw trans. The rear rides higher than a bavaria I was parked next to.

The Blue Book shows how to retrofit a normal shock so many were probably replaced.

I have Nivomats on both my E3's. They are great. Unfortunately, ZF will no longer rebuild them. They would 10 years ago but I can't even get them to agree to try to do a service on them if I ship them. If anyone else has Nivomats, I suggest you email ZF and request a service quote. If enough people ask, perhaps they will consider it worth their while. They told me they no longer have design specs for these so they can't test them. They did a few years back.
