I dont have the foggiest idea if this is a deal or not but thought I'd post for others to decide.

That's been up for a while. Also on Facebook. The car is actually in Medford, OR.

$4500 is reasonable, but IMHO, a Bavaria project almost has to be a "give away" to make it gone. In any case, transporting a inexpensive car outside of a day's driving distance is usually a non starter so the potential buyer pool shrinks quite a bit geographically.

This has a Getrag 5 speed and a 3.5 liter (M30 I assume) in it. If it is a running car and you can verify that both the engine and transmission are in good shape it's a really good purchase. If your car has a 2.8/3 liter and a 4-speed you can do a swap and sell the Bavaria for the same money :) Yeah there will be stuff to do for the transmission swap and it's from an 87 e24, don't know if the transmission supports a mechanical speedometer.

Also interior looks promising and it may be a Petri steering wheel (you can only see a small section of the wheel).

It's funny, I look at it from a Bavaria ownership perspective. I see at least $10k for paint if not DIY. At least it's not another '74 automatic.

Wow, that car still has the airdam I bought for mine in 1982. I recall buying it from twothousandtwo products in PA I believe or someplace called something like Bonadie's speed and sport. Anyway, I can't recall ever seeing another Bavaria with that airdam. :)

When I bought it, I immediately made side plates for it to prevent airflow from simply spilling around the edges into the low pressure region behind the airdam. That had the side benefit of improving the aesthetics (to me) at the same time. Here's the rather crude but effective plate:

Shoot I would have liked to check that out, ad is down. We used to post link and then do a Craigslist AdSaver along with it, but Craigslist put and end to that (I assume it was them). Other than taking some screen shots, anyone know another way to preserve the original ad and pictures in case ad gets taken down, which they all do eventually.
