There are now three E9s for sale on BaT including HB Chris’s.

Why would BaT do that and not even mention it sold in 2018 on BaT as well!

I let my Auction Specialist know that I am not happy. It won’t change anything.
I don’t blame you for being annoyed. They could have waited 24 hours. This is a really nice CSI but still not quite in the same league as your Malaga coupe. I personally can’t get past the white interior. Gives the car a “Mary Kay” vibe. Not to mention the e12 wheels. I could wrong but I doubt it will double the 2018 $45k sales price. One the other hand, the sky’s the limit on your car.
Get a good night’s sleep, tomorrow’s a big day. :)

The new BaT just doesn’t get it like the original guys. Of course they should space them out. Especially for such a great example as yours.

BaT's goal is the same as the seller's....to get as much money for each car. Their payday is the 5% buyer's fee...not the $100 listing fee. They have the backlog and the willing to wait sellers so they can essentially choose any way to group similar cars they think will generate the biggest return for them. They are not getting 4 E9s every week to list. My guess is that they are intentionally holding them and timing them to run close to each other for a good reason. BaT doesn't do much wrong when it comes to maximizing their revenue. I can guess at that reason, but I'm far from an expert.

I could be wrong, but it seems the action on Chris’s might help the others but not him. Hopefully people recognize the difference.

Hard to know if BAT is even paying attention to how many of the same model are on at any one time at this point.

The photo that catches my eye from the 2018 fjord sale is this one -and there isn't one quite like it in the latest listing. Maybe they fixed it.

What I noticed about the previous listing for both this car and Terry Sayther’s CSL is that in both the previous listings, the VIN is wrong. The CSL is one digit off and the 2018 ad for this car has a comma in there. They mentioned the previous listing for the CSL but not for the csi. Not sure if there’s anything nefarious here but it sure is odd that you can’t rely on the “BaT History” pane.

I can’t say for sure this car would have no effect on Chris’ but it certainly doesn’t present as the turn-key experience.

You’re right about the misplaced comma in the CSI VIN from 2018. But unless they’ve gone back and corrected the first CSL listing the VIN matches in both CSL listings. My guess is that BAT does a VIN search of previous listings and the misplaced comma caused the mix up.

Picture 208 in the new auction shows "fixed"?

Not quite the same area though

Reply from BaT:

Thank you for catching that, I will have someone update that listing asap. The comma in the 2018 chassis number caused an error in our backend which is why that was not picked up. Again, thank you. I understand your concern regarding multiple listings, but our marketplace boasts over 300k registered bidders, meaning there are enough buyers for more than one to be offered simultaneously, especially given their differing locations, color, interior, mileage, modifications, condition, etc.

Chris,
don’t worry. Your car is in a different league. I don’t know you nor your car like so many other writers. But I can’t find a single spot to question about. For the Fjord, I could write a list.

Those pics taken outside are definitely forest fire smoke "aided." Interesting. I will hand it to Avant Garde Collection - they are quite good at post-apocalyptic chic for their lede photos.

Commenters showing some consternation regarding the tops of the front fenders on this coupe. Based on photos from the 2018 listing, where the fender tops had no factory sound deadening replaced, one one commenter claims that strips of metal were welded in between the fenders and the shock towers. Reportedly the fenders were replaced during an earlier resto. Below is a photo from the 2018 listing. Those seams don’t look unusual to me. Currently the car has sound deadening covering this area.
Thoughts?

Thanks for the heads up. I pretty much stopped following BaT comments due to lack of time. Guy doesn’t know what he is talking about. I commented as you know. At least he didn’t double down like most BaT commenters. I was fully expecting: “My uncle had one of these in the 80’s, I distinctly remember the detailed fender construction”.

Between that guy and bbbbbbbeeeeeeeaaaaaammmmmmmmmrrrrrrzzzzzzz trading on La Jolla’s name, not off to a great start. I didn’t mention the repair work in 2017 listing as a bad thing just that it went into detail about what was done rather than supposing the car had been repainted.

Can’t believe that guy is representing La Jolla while knocking the car. I wonder what Carl thinks?
