One question from my curiosity. Why the size of the holes in the rear wooden panels are different?
Was it originally and by purpose? I thought it is for seat belt hook only.

BTW ... It looks the guy is from Poland

Different meaning the LEFT hole is a diff size than the RIGHT? Probably due to being hogged out from yanking on it or from mounting the belt.

Looks like the vinyl has all been re-covered since the holes for mounting the trim/hazard button not there yet. Looks great!

JustDashes in Van Nuys probably would charge $2k just for the vinyl redo. Here you get new wood too! Another $2500-3000 job.

Anyhow strange it was not repaired as they were refreshing all.
 
Agreed there are also poor patches in the veneer (vs) using all new flitches which would have avoided the grain and color mismatches.

this is ho you restore woods, it will take me 3 hour to fix but the proses will tale a 4 days check the pix I have 2 E9 under restoration the lighter color is for my blue E9 and darker color is for my Malaga color
