Just had a look as a matter of interest on this UK site.

http://www.weloveanycar.com/carcountuk

only 102 coupes registered for on road use. don't know how many are lurking elsewhere in shed, getting repaired etc, but not many left.
I guess this is why the prices are creeping upwards.

14 x CS
18 x CSA
28 x CSi
42 x CSL

...it's interesting/ironic that CSL's are the most plentiful

Only in the UK. There the CSL was positioned quite differently. Due to high import taxes in the 70s the E9 was attrociously expensive anyway (something like twice the price of a Jag). So the importer only ordered few and as it was expensive anyway for a Year or two he ordered only CSLs with all options (city pack etc). as a sort of "fully optioned" E9.
I beleive there was a batch of 500 RHD made for that.
So a RHD CSL is technically a CSL but was quite a different proposition from the marketing side (not the stripped out racer but the top of the line model). Anyway, the UK climate is extremely hard on all cars so anyone now thinking of the business oportunities of buying (cheaper) UK CSLs and converting them to LHD.. Good Luck.

How many left?

Check out this UK web page, it shows exactly how many of each model are road registered or classed as currently off the road called sorn. With the UK road tax costs many of us take them off the road for the winter, ie sorn it.

It suggests 32 CSI in Q4 2013, outstanding data! One of these was mine.
