Everyone please make me more knowledgeable on the term numbers matching. This is confusing to me. Does the chassis, engine and trans all have a number stamp engraved on particular locations on the E9. Where do you look to confirm the car in “numbers matching?” Thanks.

I will translate. VIN is stamped on firewall bulkhead in front of passenger, motor is stamped on flat boss above starter, heater hoses will be in your way so try to push them aside. That’s it, no trans number.
