Depending on the year, this is possibly a 256/5 which is not nearly as desirable. This from MyE28...

Used on 5/6/733s from '83-'84. Non removable bell housing, waffle pattern for case casting. Considered weak and cannot accommodate a M5 clutch. Sheet metal shifter support. Overdrive 5th.

Not sure about the speedo drive but I suspect it's not an option, and I've never heard of anyone doing it. The Wizzard radiator alone could make it a good deal however.

I didn't look. I know some early e23's had the G265 but I never pay attention to the e23's.

If this is the one I think it is I contacted him back in Feb and got this response when asking about the car with trans "The 81 had 400 something K and the chassis had a lot of rust thats why i bought a new body to swap the manual trans into." I did ask him if it was a 3 piece trans and he wasn't sure.... Even if you can steal it buying a high mileage 265 is a gamble...guess it depends on how cheap you can get it....

'83-'84 had the G260/5. G265/5 is the dogleg. The early cars had a G265/6 but the manual car looks like a G260/5 car.

Ummm, what he said. No idea where I got 256/5, that's not even a valid number. I meant to say 260/5. Based on the OBC, I'm going with an 83-84 MY car.
