OMG ... seeing this over morning coffee gives me a shock.
This is made out of rust with bits of metal around it.

I do like this euphemism tough:
"However, not all hope is lost ..."
in the spirit of the season probably...

Currently at $5,100 with "Reserve not met," even though the condition clearly states: “This car will be going with no reserve.”

According to the previous thread on the Craigslist ad for this one the seller believes the reserve should be in the $30K neighborhood, so hold your breath.

The rust is impressive. Nothing quite like a salty CSI.

Question to the gruppe; is this seam between the front lower valance and the left front fender the way it left the factory? (red line in pic)
In my car it was completely welded shut.
Just curious to know how it left the factory, as that is how i want it to reappear after I'm done with my body work.

That looks original to me - from the limited photos it looks pretty original and unmolested and perhaps it’s not quite as bad as the large amounts of surface rust would suggest - it looks like many Northern European project cars!

The Ebay listing states "surface rust". I think the seller is describing his frontal lobe and not the car.

Got up to 10K and did not sell. He should have taken it.

@eriknetherlands, Yes those panels are tack-welded on both sides. Tend to be hidden by bumpers & air dams.
