Don't know someone is gathering the chassis numbers of the E9s being parted out

The one "2263230" is probably another one which is no more.

Ya, the registry should reflect that VIN is an orphan (or a future re-body).

Looks like the seller is from Osnabrück. If I had to guess, he discovered the old train yard where all the unused e9 chassis are stored. :D

Only somewhat off topic, ran into an old pal from high school last night, who has been fairly successful in insurance. He revealed, to my surprise, that there is another CS in Honolulu, owned by a moderately famous artist, whose daughter I was slightly acquainted with, decades ago. I havent' seen another CS on the street, island or state in years and years, but now I know the (rainy, steep) neighborhood in which she lives. She apparently has told the insurance guy that she'll never part with the CS, but has been surprised to find how much more civilized and comfy a recent-vintage Honda can be. AC that works, auto trans so no funky synchros, comfy seats whose covers don't rip, body steel that withstands the tendency to oxidize...

What to do, what to do...? Sniff it out, of course, in a respectful and polite way. Maybe I can ask for an autograph on one of the posters of her art, which were very common back in the day.

I often point out that my (recently sold) 08 328i is worth less than 1/10th of my e9 and is better in every way (other than the subjective stuff) :)

I can’t find the ad but 2204850 VIN plate is for sale. Exactly 200 cars away from mine.

Sorry,

It is very cheap to own E9 (from "formal" perspective)
