One more new project

For some things, democracy is not a good thing...choosing paint color should be personal. When I started on my 2002 restoration, the body guy said "what color do you want...I have to order it tomorrow; call me in the morning"....So I had 18 hours to decide what was my favorite color to change from Sahara to. I picked a non-1976 color, Nevada, and every time I'm at a an event, that choice is confirmed by most everyone there. My choice; I didn't care if anyone else liked it. Its your car....pick your favorite color to be seen in. Hard to resist the power of gold, though.
As to the rustbucket status, it's only a rustbucket if you don't have the means to restore it. You fortunately do, and I'm glad to see it happen.

Oh, you are very right about the color. I was also thinking way too much and asking everyone I know for the Sienna that became Baikal. I was not that big a fan of the Sienna but I kinda regret the change now, am very happy with the Baikal though. A goldish Ceylon next to the Baikal will look *very* nice, especially for a Swede :) But, I have become a bit more of a purist over the years, so the Baikal will be the driver I use for fun and these will be as original as I can.

This guy is doing the metal work on a Ceylon pretty much by hand himself : https://www.facebook.com/groups/1822836644645345/user/100001710445508 quite impressive. I only have the means because I can have someone do it in the way Miklos does. Would be way too expensive otherwise.

I've been going to Sweden during the summer for the past 15 years and have only seen one CS! The rest must be hiding in barns or boathouses! Would love to see this when completed. I think you found a score! A beaut!

Thanks, it will look well with the others. Baikal, Taiga, Inka :)

But I am little surprised everyone here sees it as a rustbucket, is an untouched E9.... There are many worse out there. But we will see when it's been wetblasted. Miklos manufactures a bunch of parts and a lot is available from Walloth. I of course have money for that in the budget. The approach is basically to make it bare metal, cut off all the bad stuff and replace. When done in an industrial manner like he does it gets pretty efficient. Very different from someone figuring it all out in his own garage.
Also, it is complete, chrome and interior are quite good. Way harder to fix some of that than some rust.
Admire your cajones taking on another project. I don't see any rust there  I see a chance to test Miklos' skills!!

On the subject of colours - I have had loads of time to think about original vs what I want and I am moving towards the latter. Though a Swedish pair in Ceylon and Baikal will look brilliant. Best of luck to you!

Thanks mate, I have done a car before and know Miklos' work so I am not expecting too many surprises. And we have the approach to replace and not repair the metal. Is quicker which saves money but the parts may cost a bit more. There will of course be some unobtainium parts I need but that can be solved later. We will see, the work is slowly starting and I will post more pics after wetblasting.
