I have 5 barely used original e9 FPS alloy 14x6 wheels with chrome hub caps. Come with 4 free vintage tires.

These have been in storage for 30+ years and look great for there age.

I'm located in the SF Bay area and would prefer local pickup.

I would like to get $1200 for them or possibly trade for 2002 or 635csi parts.

These wheels may be common in your country but they are not in America.

I see people asking $400 for just the hub caps
Yes, and as Erik points out, those hubcaps have been for sale for 30 years too. I have a set with hubcaps in Monterey that are in good condition that I would happily sell for $400.00 and yes, they are common. In addition you can still buy the hubcaps new for less than $100.00 each.

Thank you for your unsolicited advice.

Don't worry I won't bother posting any of the other parts I have since you guys obviously have better stuff in your trash bin.
Don’t take it personally. We are just sharing our input and knowledge. Take it if you wish, we are just trying to help so you don’t sit there scratching your head wondering why no one has bought these.

One of the buyer/seller benefits of selling on a forum is the commentary. I love these wheels. I sold mine and wish I had kept them. They aren’t rare however, and unfortunately not very desireable. Over 60% of restored e9’s have Alpina style wheels installed. Another 20% have a mesh style wheel. Very few cars are running these wheels, and 14” tire selection doesn’t help. I think we will get to a point where folks are hunting for these wheels, but that time has not arrived.

The members here are really trying to help you understand their value, they aren’t attacking you. As it was your first post here it would have helped to give some background on your experience around these cars.

1 person saying my wheels are overpriced = not helpful but ok. 2 people = ok I get it. 3 people annoying. An administrator and moderator piling on= sad!

This forum is more active than most vintage BMW forums and the members do a really good job of making sure newbies don't get taken by high prices. If you had done your research to begin with you wouldn't be in this predicament. Instead of saying "oops, my bad" you are blaming everyone else. e9coupe.com is an excellent place for owners and vendors to come and support their hobby. I suggest you hit the reset button and have a second try at this. I am sure that you will like us and we will most likely enjoy your input and what you have to offer. There's also a good chance you'll run in to one or more of us at some car event. This is a great place to make friends.

My name is Mike, I live in Monterey and would like to welcome you to the e9coupe forum. Please let me know if I can ever be of help!

piling on would have been posting your ad here

please keep in mind that IMHO all the forum members were respectful in this thread ... we all look at the aspects of a post - where they are, how many posts. in your case these are some of your first posts. you had noted what area are you in, what you wanted to sell, pics ... and a price. all well done.

please remember, nobody made any comments about anything but pricing ... all for your benefit. let me assure you that @Markos, @HB Chris and @OCCoupe are some of the most respected people i know on this forum ... i have dealt with all 3 many times, there is not a malicious bone in any of their bodies.

Ok, apologies to @ArtsBmwParts for downsizing your add revenue.

Just I know that 99%of people on the forum knew this already.
Meaning that 1. you won't sell em here. And 2. That you will not achieve your goal of getting rid of them.

Was just trying to help you.
Helping to get them sold. You may sell them to someone not knowing the market value, but the chance to do it here is small.

They are lovely wheels - I have them too.
