I know this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone have access to an original, 2 piece black, rear, Csl plastic bumper. I have a couple of goodies to trade if that helps.

There must be one out there somewhere... calling Ron!

I'll push an email to a couple of potential sources.

I know of a couple including one still in original packing material - never mounted NOS.
Very pricey stuff. Think 2500 for virgin never used.

your probable only other option is to buy one from one of the people that make repro stuff for the CSL - coupeguy or one of the others.

CSL bumper

My buddy Terry ("srennoc"on the forum) bought the last known two available from the owner of San Fran BMW private collection a couple years ago. He installed one on his CSL and he has a second NOS rear bumper that he is planning to install on his other coupe that he just got back from paint. I actually had this bumper in my hand two months ago and it's the real deal. He refused my offer of a pristine bumper + $$$$. I know they were pricey, but everything has a price. In my opinion, this bumper belongs on a csl, not the car he is currently restoring. Deep down, I know Terry agrees.
Don- is that the same person you were referring to?
Sent Terry a PM. You might get lucky.

offer him a reproduction and a big pile of $$$. Mike is correct, a NOS CSL bumper belongs on a CSL.

Thanks for your help and suggestions guys. I'll give it my best shot. Put in a good word for me with Terry.

I think I just bought one of Terry's E9s... On Friday! Didn't meet Terry, but was told by his broker to contact him with specialty questions...
I have one: Why were so many women's panties in the glove and trunk?

Sounds like you got scammed if you were told you were buying a car from Terry.
Terry's car just got out of the paint booth. He hasn't sold a car in 4 years.
Who told you this was Terry's car?
You did get a title with this right?
