i met the northwest version of murray today - i drove my coupe to the gym and as i was pulling in, a polaris couple was pulling out. he turned around and we had a nice chat. turns out he bought his '72 coupe, new, from a MB dealer here in seattle, and has driven all 140k miles (ok not quite murray) that are on the car himself. car is completely original and in nice shape.

he had not heard about this forum, and said he would check it out. i hope so, he would be a great add.

love these cars!

We should get a Seattle Coupe gathering now that the weather is (mostly) turned the corner...

I'm up north of town, but down south is fine too...

I've been thinking the same thing Kevin. I've been trying to keep track of the coupe owners in the area and I know there are at least a half dozen, probably more. One option would be "Exotics at Redmond Town Center":

They have the event every Sat. AM when the forecast is for 30% or less chance of precip. Alas, it will be while before my car is ready but I would love to see some of the local cars and meet their owners.

I would probably be game.

Bill - what state is your restoration currently in? I would love to see its at some point if the timing works out.

calling all northwest coupes!

im game too. i know of 5 coupes withing 5 miles of me, not counting bimbill or kevin.

dont know about that redmond place, but sounds good. afterwards we could caravan back to my place after for a bbq and maybe a few adult beverages.

maybe mid summer timeframe?

calling all northwest coupes (you too pamp) - how many could we gather? would think at least a dozen.

another option

Another option would be to attend the BMW CCA Puget Sound annual Concours on July 29th. The E9 is part of the featured car grouping along with the 6 series (BMW Coupes over the years). This is great event on the grass at Cedar River Park in Renton. Of course there's no reason we can't do both :-)

I've been compiling a list of area Coupes and owners that I'm aware of and I'm up to fifteen with a few more, I'm sure. I don't have contact information for all of them but I'm working on it.

As for my project, it's just about ready for primer after some hammer and dolly work on a few dents and filling of side marker holes, etc. It's a long process as many of you know but I want to get it right, hence patience and attention to detail.
