so how 'crunchy' is the interior padding?
So, are we talking, like, potato chip crunch or, Rice Crispy-type sound? I never have quite rated the sound my visors may make when adjusted. Don't recall anything unusual. But the these parts are all about 50 years old, and we all make sounds when standing up, right? So, could be normal. New parts may be silent, but I don't know. These pieces look very good though.
These DO look great. On many, (cant speak to these two..) the foam petrifies, on its way to becoming dust (ashes to ashes...) Often, when you squeeze, they will leave finger imprints, make the crunch, and they are done....I've had many 2002 and e9 ones and tried to figure out how to open, insert new, cushy foam, and re-seal. I'm sure they were heat-sealed/trimmed in a press, with the foam already inside...not really a way to remedy...open to ideas. DeQ?
I think indeed DeQuincey slot them open, replaced the foam, and glued them shut. Correct @deQuincey ?
Thin slice, enough to get a "Stuffit" foam insulation straw in there, long enough to distribute evenly, then between 2 boards weighted down for 24 hours.

I’m in the process for making another batch of the aluminium visor mount brackets if an eventual buyer needs a set they could be added to the list.
