Can someone confirm this is the right number for the cupped black washers used for the E9 center console. They seem to be available through BMW motorcyle dealerships for about 2 bucks c/w ECS tuning 7 bucks. If an alternative exists, welcome that but I have looked and none are quite the right shape.

Dick, I have a few actual , real E3 ones if you need them. Don't think I have a whole set though. I also still have packaging so have the correct part number . Just a few years back, parts were more available and a boat load cheaper. The E3 ones I believe are M3 while the E9 are M4.

There are a lot of similar washers around, like Belmetric, but none the exact shape. Not being an E9 snob (since I have an E3 too), have a few original to the car and want to continue with them.

Thanks, Bob :) ...but mine came out "good enough" for me. They really don't get any wear so I think the paint will hold.

Save them for someone doing a nuts and bolts (literally) restoration on an E3.

It's amazing what members of this site have in both information and parts to assist others!

Adding to BavBob's post:
The correct washers are not of the typcial cup washer design. As you all know, the washer metal folds underneath to prevent the edge of the cup from cutting into the vinyl panels. They are, IMHO, superior per the application, than the ordinary hardware store variety. Plus .... they're metric!

According to BMW part catalog, they are commonly used (E21, E30, E3, Z1, E12, W10 and E9 plus several motorbikes).
For E9 they are coming into internal and external part of center console/heating.
Piece price is < $2/pc here in EU.
The question is f they are still such a quality/shape as old ones.
