Part help - metal fuel line "pads"

Hi all, need some help. I needed to undo a few of the metal tabs which secure the metal fuel lines running under the floorpan, to get to the last two jubilee clips in the engine bay. There is a small plastic "pad" wrapped around the fuel line where the metal tabs secure the fuel line.
I can't see these protective pads on realoem

Any pointers welcome. I'm sure any old thick plastic could be cut to size, but I'd buy the proper part if available.

Hi Simon, the metal fuel lines look good, no sign of any rust. Pleasing, as I had a metal line rust through on my E24.
I've taken the whole fuel system out of the engine bay now, will be replacing the rubber.
Injectors are going to a Bosch service place on Monday, so I should know if I need any replacements soon.
Do you have an injector rail in your hoard, the metal loop which supplies fuel to the injectors?
How much do you want for a couple of the pads?

I'd had exactly the same thought. I came across an inner tube whilst hunting in my garage for some teflon sheet. I think the genuine pads are made of teflon, feels like teflon anyway. Same stuff as in the sliding brake calipers on mk2 golfs!
 
I don;t think that they would be teflon, think for a minute, these cars are from the early 70's. Car manufacture's did not use much teflon anywhere and probably not for fuel or brake lines I have been using the rubber from inner tubes for years ( still using the same big truck inner tube from about 8 years ago ) double wrap it around the tube and away you go

To protect the metal fuel or brake pips I used the rubber plastic sheaths that a paint shop used to protect the thread on exposed studs, just cut the end off.
