I just drove home a 1981 528i 350 miles I just purchased essentially for the 5 speed transmission to upgrade my 1973 3.0 CSi. The engine and transmission performed great. Besides the transmission, what else should I take out of the 528i before I junk it? I was thinking the radiator, rear end, and brakes. Would anyone be interested in the engine? 528i Parts

Hi Jeff:

I'm interested in converting my CS to fuel injection. Easiest for me would be to take the cylinder head off with everything attached. I've got a parts list from a posting somewhere.

What sort of time frame are you looking at? I'm in Canmore but have two daughters at U of A.

A lot of these cars had limited slip differentials. You should save the driveshaft in case you need some of it for your conversion.

I think the wiper motors work, the front brake calipers will work and the rotors will if you use the 528i hubs.

Other parts to save: swaybars, radiator, engine fan and clutch.

Can't think of anything from the body or interior that is useful.

ac compresor
expansion tank
P/S pump
ashtrays
fuel pump
intake pump
window switches
alternator

Lots of goodies there!

Hi Jeff
I'm contacting you in behalf of a local friend--an original owner of a 528i--He's in need of some parts for his car and believe you may have same.

Please send me phone contact information as he is one of those few remaining computer illiterates--his name is Gary Bennett and has been a loyal wearer of the roundel since 1968. I'm sure he will call you.
