Oh yeah already on the schedule as we are members . Daou and Austin Hope also on the list.
Austin Hope is another of my favorites. For beer Barrel House Brewing in Tin City.
BH is always solid and the ambiance is nice, but I prefer the beers at Firestone though the atmosphere is blah . My wife's fam has lived there for 4 decades. They have the area pretty well staked out at this point. The downside is we always go to the same places whereas I like to venture about. Will let you know if I find any hidden gems this trip.
Then you obviously know Les Petites Canailles, amazing small plates and great wine.
if you like really big wines with high alcohol, Turley is your winery.
Thanks @rsporsche not quite what I am looking for then. I fall towards the other end of the spectrum.
right there with you. i remember tasting a turley black sears zinfandel that was 17.6% alcohol. it was amazingly balanced, but you didn't want to drink too much of it.
Epoch which was York Mountain is the oldest vineyards and winery in Paso, loved their Estate Syrah. Used to belong to Adelaida which is very good, one of my favs is Thacher, Villa Creek, Alta Colina also excellent.
Funny you mention Epoch, I can walk there from my wife's family house. It takes some serious effort with those hills but doable. We'll be heading there on Saturday for a tasting.
