PCAR Market Listing1975 BMW 3.0 CSL GROUP 4 TRIBUTE

Andrew remembered it from Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in 2018. I was there as well.
Joe Avejon is owners name.
Not sure how much he did or just wrote checks.

As a buyer, do we prefer owners who thrash their rides, drive them like our mothers, or something in between? For me, unless it’s a race car, I want my mother’s car.
My mother had a Plymouth Reliant and was also pulled over for speeding on a regular basis so I'll pass. Kidding, she didn't really. Also I'm not sure that Reliant and speeding are two things that ever went together. You do make a good point, but woe be the buyer who sees someone driving a car very gently and then assumes that must be how the car is always driven. Maybe it is, but who knows? I look at BaT driving videos as a poor substitute for a test drive. If you're buying a car sight-unseen, the driving video is as close to a test drive as you can get.

If you were interested in buying a driver-condition Tii, how would you test drive it? Like your mother, like a "hoonigan" or somewhere in between? I would do a couple of hard pulls through the revs, make sure the tranny seemed okay, some hard braking and somewhat quick turns, merge onto a highway, see how it cruised. Not thrashing, but making sure everything was working as it should. That's what I find most useful in driving videos on BaT. Again, other's might not, but if I were buying a car undriven I'd actually feel better about it after seeing such a video than seeing one where the car is just babied. I will say Markos's "awesome" example was probably pushing it too far - especially when you consider the passing in the no passing zone. Makes one wonder about the driver's (owner's?) judgment or lack thereof.

I have yet to see any video of a listed CS being thrashed. Spirited driving on a curvy road wouldn’t sway me from buying a car.
Isn’t it unfair to expect a high performance driving video for car not intended for that use case? Seller clearly states this is a show and shine car. Maybe that’s why it only makes 275HP from 3 liters, competitive power not needed. And, Maybe that’s an “at the wheel” number

I personally think this is a bit silly. Would it be unreasonable to ask for a launch video if you bought this “show and shine car”?

I believe that is the BMW Motorsport style placement of the K-Fisch. I’m sure @Keshav would know.

That’s right…..BMW MS places them there! But BMW MS didn’t use Alloy trumpets, rather plastic ones. Also the KF looks like a Schnitzer one to me….. could be wrong though. @roundel would surely know the fine differences.

@Drew Gregg Those are Vitaloni Californian's. Sebrings were used on the IMSA cars.

Chassis build looks stout and we're told the engine has the right stuff... instead of pictures of it, let's see the specifics. Certainly would cost the asking to build it.

It's the cosmetics that bug me. Instead of a "tribute" why not simply execute a period accurate build? Obviously, heavy stuff needs to go. The interior is the worst, sell the seats, paint the dash flat black, lose the glass for Plexi. Needs correct mesh BBS shod with GY or Avons, and if you have the cash, go pin-drive. The car would be welcomed by several vintage organizations on both coasts. This pair are regularly flogged in HSR.
