Yes. That large return spring on at the top of clutch pedal is found on 74 and later e3/e9’s. 74 and later pedal boxes had a notch that the spring slipped into. 73 and earlier pedal boxes can’t accommodate that spring. But the pedals will still work fine on earlier (pre74) e3/e9’s with the spring removed.

Curious how the spring helps. ANyone compare back to back?

I think I have a 74 pedal box (since it has provisions for the telescoping column), but i have no spring.
