Hi all, I have another very nice 40cm Petri Sport Wheel up for sale. It’s in great condition in all critical areas, the spokes are excellent without issues, the foam is still pretty firm maybe a bit soft in some places but I think this one is a bit thicker than most (there are several thicknesses of Petri Sport wheels). The wheel, longer e9 hub and hub cover, center ring, and e9 horn ring are all genuine Petri, the only exception is the horn button is an aftermarket, but is brand new and looks pretty good I think. It’s another beautiful example of an original period correct wheel at an agreeable price.

$950 + actual shipping.

Just so it’s clear as the wheel has the rarer longer and appropriate e9 hub that measures 93mm vs the shorter 87mm 2002 hub (see pic below). I have updated the listing with this info as well. A screaming deal for this wheel and hub combination!

the standard e9 hub ... NOT the longer CSL hub ... correct?

its a very reasonable price for a very nice wheel, well presented ... not quite the smoking hot deal that Wladek had ... but again, its here on the forum by a forum member with a well respected track record with excellent steering wheels.
thanks!

Yes, correct. This one has standard e9 hub (93mm) which is longer than the 02 hub (87mm), which I think most of the Petri’s for sale generally have.

As far as the price - the genuine e9 Petri hub, as you know, is quite valuable - which the one Wladek was selling did not have - so that adds to value as well as the price a bit. Originality is always nice.

I can help to source a correct Petri Horn Button if any potential buyers are interested as well. John

I look forward to seeing a Petri in every forum member's car. :D

Well, just a heads up to those following, I should have two other beautiful 40cm Petri’s available soon, one of which is in absolute spectacular 10/10 condition. Of course it will be priced accordingly as well. The other is somewhere in between these two. PM with any questions, and stay tuned...

I am now officially addicted to Petris, and I am intrigued about a "10/10" 40cm option for my CSi.

Pm sent

Cheers!

When I bought my first E Type back in England in 1983, the first thing I restored was the steering wheel, which then lived on the bedside cabinet for quite some time. I may have come full circle with my New Petri 'fascination'

What is not to love about a Petri! Certainly the most gorgeous wheel on any e9 or 2002. Maybe not the “best” wheel comfort or handling wise, but the steel construction vs the aluminum wheels like Momo’s just feels right in our cars. I have a couple perfect 38’s tucked away that I will likely be buried with, well, one will be in use soon but the back up that will stay unused to make sure I always have one. Yes, I have issues. :)

PM replied Dan ;)

I wonder who was kind enough to initially post the pic of the three musketeers/ Petri hubs with covers to match.
We all refer to this pic. I was always positively ‘envious’ of the person with all the three different hubs.

Lol, only guys like us would be jealous of spare hubs

I love this pic also, but can never read it so I cleaned it up a bit ;)
