Up for sale is a very nice all original 40cm Petri sport steering wheel. This wheel comes with all original parts, including a original Petri horn button and the correct longer e9 Petri hub. The wheel is in overall excellent condition, the only blemish of note is a few holes in the rubber on the back side m, but the front is in perfect condition.

$1450 shipped CONUS

Very fair price for its overall condition!
minnow have enough Petri. Otherwise I would buy it.
to whoever plans on buying this wheel. If you don’t know John (seller) I would want to say that although I have not met John but have bought few items from him. I have been very pleased with all of the items and they way John handled packaging and shipping ,etc....

Thank you Tony and Chris! It’s getting really tough to find original Petris in nice condition, this is the only 40cm version I have found in the last 2 years I think. PM with any questions!

John

Perfect for a manual-steer 2002.

Trouble is, most 2002 owners (like myself) would rather spend that kind of coin somewhere else. E.g. BBS RS wheels, head/cam work, 5-speed.

Not sure the intent of your post, and while you are entitled to your own opinion you are actually wrong on a few things here. This Petri has a very specific longer OEM hub for e9’s, and has the e9 horn ring - so it’s incorrect for a 2002. I believe it’s also much more common for a coupe to have the larger 40cm diameter Petri, with the 38cm and even 35 more suitable for 2002’s. Some of us also place a high value in touch points especially since there are so few and for me having the correct steering wheel makes a ton of difference to the driving experience IMO. But true, these aren’t for everyone, just for those who like driving in style ;)

I rather have a nice steering wheel first than BBS wheel. After all I see feel and touch the wheel all the time while driving as compared to wheels that are seen by others..... nonetheless I have both on my E9

Maybe not the "see" part, but the feel/touch...I'm sure I can find a $200 wheel that would feel as good as a $1500 Petri.

BBS RS wheels are the primo wheel for any BMW. Wheels can make/break a car like nothing else can.

Have you ever been on BAT? You should check it out, you’d fit right in

Unproductive banter. I sold the same Petri on the forum for $1,500. Fair and justifiable price.

@teahead you were just commenting in the steering wheel thread on your reproduction momo prototipo. Prototipos are $350 new but you found that excessive. Nobody should be surprised that you are balking at a $1,500 period/factory steering wheel. I’m not sure what the end game is here, but your perspective has been noted.

You two are like an old married couple, picking fights at a dinner party after a few too many cocktails. Keep it up!
