Very enjoyable piece, love seeing the pre & postwar Lionels too, especially the blue 390e on the shelf behind him.
 
No doubt, Andrew.... Lots of fond memories with my grandfather and a massive train set he had in his basement in Freeport, PA.

Had to share this one with the wife. She always appreciates a good story, and bringing home the newborn is classic.

I have a similar story.
I have pics of me in my cap and gown and my wife heavily pregnant, with the e9 in the background. (1984)
I also have a 1985 635csi (not M6).

Son will inherit the coupe in due time. I'm not done driving it just yet.
He was born at home, but the coupe was THE first vehicle he went camping in at age 2.

He has me beat with that great garage though
