Phase 2 completed at 11:00 AM today!

Hi, I made that work on rear side and now I am preparing for de front side subframe.
Do you sanded and painted by powder? Do you take off the engine?

The original baked on paint was in good shape front and rear under all the muck. I had some paint made up to match the dark grey/paint and used a very simple sprayer to apply. I pressure washed the rear components before spraying. Was time consuming.

I left the front subframe in place and used kerosene to wipe all the grease off. The original baked on paint they used is incredibly durable. With a lot of elbow grease it turned out ok!

The pic of the strut shows the original color with a piece of black tape for comparison.
Redid the rear wheel bearings and cv joints

Didn't mean to steal your thunder, just had some old pics that might be useful :)

It's great peace of mind knowing all that stuff has been renewed.

Steve pretty much took my thunder. It is pretty straightforward. Just be prepared to deal with any tension on the springs.

This is another case of non-standardization. I was visiting Vintage Sports and Racing where 2 CSLs are being restored. Both had subframe parts in both the green/grey and black. Oddly, one CSL has the grey/green on the rear subframe and black on the front parts; the other CSL, the opposite!
ooops ... did Mario's guys mix them up??? just kidding, i know much better than that.

I have seen 3 different colors on coupe subframes, black, the greenish gray, and color similar to agave. I think it came down to what paints the supplier had available.
