Hi!
These plastic covers followed my project car. Are they extra equipment to raise the seat height or standard equipment? I haven't been able to find them in any part catalogue.

They are just a decorative trim piece and they turn yellow when the chrome wears off. Many owners have never noticed them.

Mine was in bad condition, so I renewed them with aluminum tape. The same type used for cooling and insulation. The result was very good.

I also used aluminum tape. Since you only see the side of the trim piece you its pretty easy to wrap the rounded edge

the same aluminum tape as you use to renew the tail light reflectors?
Did you cut the tape lenth wise before applying?

I considered making some of these out of aluminum. They look simple, but closer inspection revealed that they are actually tapered front to back, not only shimming the seat height, but also contributing to the seat angle.

I have been experimenting with a kit purchased on E Bay.
Don't buy Spectra Chrome, it does not provide an acceptable result.
With the expense of the kit, primer and paint, I could have had my seat trim professionally rechromed.

Walloth & Nesch has the floor trim pieces (cost approx $30 per pair), but told me the pieces that attach to the bottom of the seats are NLA.
