plastic clip removal tool?

Am I dreaming, or do I remember a scissor/hemostat type of tool that would slide under door/trunk panels to pinch and allow release of the clips that held the panels fast? Can it be bought? rented?...or will a pair of dull scissors work with some grinding...?

I use this but it doesn't really pinch anything, just gets under the collar of the clip.

That tool is now available on Amazon as well. Although the one on the Locksmith site looks sturdier since the handles are made of one piece of metal instead of two.
