I fully admit that I may be taking things out of context here, but I just scanned over the last few comments and bids and I see this: (remember you have to read from bottom to top since it’s the live chat):

I bought a NOS kit from
@Roadsterwanted (The Seller),
and it was absolutely incredible. The only one in the world.
Maybe a little old lady has another in her closet, but will
never reappear in a long time.
I have high expectations from the seller, what he says is as good as gold,
and this kit might make a nice pair for my NOS

Best of luck to all bidders!

So Johnny Mercury puts a bid in at $6k+, then after one more bid, things quiet down for a while. Half an hour later, he post this unrestrained praise for the seller and this item that he is supposedly trying to win…. Is that what you would do if you were trying to discourage the competition?
Not surprisingly, after the bids get going again he bows out
Hmmmm….
Maybe it’s all above board but let’s just say that if I was trying to win a bid, that would not be part of my strategy
