Hi folks, I went to realoem to find some suitable power steering hoses and they want 45.00 each. These are just the hoses
#'s 8&9

08 Hose 16X22MM X

32411131545 $45.93

09 Hose 16X22MM X

32411131545 $45.93

I am wondering if there is a less expensive alternative. I asked at the auto parts store and they said use heater hose....NOT, just wondering what the collective genius on the forum dictates.

Thanks!

Thanks Chris, Belmetric actually has the correct hose for 25.00 per meter (about 40 inches) so I can order that but I think I am going to try a local hose supply on my way to work in the morning, I can't see that they would not have something that would work. :???:

The high pressure hose is more like $95, the two low pressure hoses are much cheaper but if you want these original braided hoses go with Belmetric, 11x17 as I recall, not cheap but one meter does both low pressure hoses.

i think something is being missed. The hi pressure hose has a restrictor crimped into the middle of the hose.I found this out when I went to rebuild my old one and the hyraulic shop explained they did not have the die needed to do this and had not a clue where to find someone who did. Solution?? A factory hose

Thanks everyone! I did not need the high pressure line, just the return lines. I purchased 4 feet of "hydraulic hose" (16.5 MM) which fit perfectly. Cost was about 7 bucks for all 4 feet and it looks fine and I assume it will work fine too. It may not be "original" but the idea is "maintenance not restoration" and I feel pretty good about the way it looks- so now on to the last few items!
