Hey, all. Any opinions on what a clean set of 17x8 BBS Style 5s should be sold for? Square, not staggered. Tires shot/irrelevant. I've seen up to $1,500 a set in older classifieds here. Does that sound about right? I'm weighing a local seller's set.

Thanks!

I would say $500 for a mediocre set. $600 for a good set without rash but need refinishing. $800-$900 for a really nice original set, and $1,000 - $1,300 for a polished / refinished set with new or polished hardware.

Keep in mind that the square 17’s are by no means rare. There are literally thousands of sets that will be on the market now and soon. E39’s are long in the tooth and pricey to maintain. You can buy a whole e39 with Style 5’s for $1,000 to $1,500.

17x9’s and 18’s are in a whole different category.

Polished lips? That adds at least another $200.

Anywhere between $750 and $1200. They're ubiquitous

I can buy a sport model e39 at auction for $100 sometimes. Fees and towing and we're in them $300. Then have the car hauled away for scrap for $200 without touching it. I've considered it, and I also think this time right now is probably the peak as far as quantities go... Low value, high number on the road.

Up here in Seattle, you won't get ANYTHING for a scrap car. You have to PAY to get it towed away. Glut of metal I guess

Scrap is very low right now, but we sell directly to the scrap companies in volume. We typically scrap about 300-400 vehicles at a time, but they also take "wet" complete cars for around $200 picked up. Five years ago when China needed metal we were getting $600/ea.
